Our Story
Owner and cook, Cornell Clark was born and raised in Chicago and learned how to barbecue from his father. “My Dad was the chef and I was the taster”.
Since opening his restaurant on M-36 in Hamburg, The Smoke Doctor has quickly become entrenched in the Pinckney, Hamburg, Livingston County area as a great barbecue cook and a strong community supporter.
The restaurant is open Tuesday through Saturday from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM. Popular menu items include:
Pulled pork sandwiches
Brisket sandwiches
Pulled smoked chicken sandwiches
Dogs and sausages
Baby back spare ribs
Catering for weddings, graduation parties, birthdays, anniversaries, and family events is offered on an available basis.

Cornell is a very strong believer in supporting his community.
Ms. Yvonne Farley principal of Farley Hill Schools has twice written thank you letters for the Smoke Doctor’s support of their food pantry and for cash donations to purchase warm clothing for needy children.
